How Many Floridians Have Health Insurance Coverage Through Their Employer?

If you look at the geographic map, it differentiates by region of country. So if you want to take a look at our Florida marketplace, for example, our employers do less in the state of Florida than they do on a national average. So in the state of Florida, for example, only 40 percent of health insurance is provided to Floridians by their employers, which is 8.5 percent below what the national average is. And if you also look at Medicare and Medicaid, we have an increase in the number of people as a percentage in the state of Florida who receive their healthcare through Medicare and Medicaid. And that kind of stands to reason based on our Florida population. We have a lot of people who come here later in life to retire and live the Florida dream. But our employer population could probably do a little bit better in the state of Florida.
