The Benefit of Employee Assistance Programs Part 2


Another really valuable part of an EAP plan, and I’ve had to use this twice in my career, is where an employer had a death, maybe on site. This recently happened with one of my clients. One of the employees passed away at work, and we were able to call the EAP plan, and literally, within eight hours, they had a counselor on site, there to talk to the employees, make sure everybody was okay, refer them to resources if they needed help, or if they were struggling with what had happened, there at the workplace. So, something that’s also very valuable that these EAP plans can coordinate for you, if you need it.
