Employee assistance programs are really valuable tools for employees to use during certain times in their life. Let’s say they’re going through a divorce, or they have money problems, or now they’re all of a sudden charged with caring for an elderly parent, and they need resources and people to talk to, maybe some counseling.

Employee assistance programs are going to provide that for employees, usually at no cost, for an initial, maybe three visits. And then they can be referred into the health plan but one of the things that they do a really good job of too is, you know, telephonic resources. So you can call or go online and there’s lots of resources and information of different organizations that might be able to help you depending on the issue that you might have.
